Support our work

Help us not only sustain but grow this critical piece of London’s mental health infrastructure and an essential public good.

Be part of the £1.5million pledge

CPU London receives no statutory funding and is completely self-funded, relying on the generosity of individuals and organisations.

As well as a psychotherapy treatment service we are also a leading clinical placement centre, providing highly sought-after training placements and building the next generation of leading psychotherapists and psychoanalysts.

The long-term treatment we deliver is highly effective, with 75% of outgoing patients showing improved overall mental health as per our latest data capture (Feb 2026).

The Need for support

The current mental health system is designed for brief treatment. But long-standing psychological difficulties, chronic depression and complex trauma, the presenting symptoms our and most patients seek help with, do not resolve quickly. They require long-term in depth therapy that addresses the underlying causes of distress, leading to lasting change rather than temporary symptom relief.

For many this kind of psychotherapy is not a luxury, it is the only effective treatment and one that is not only life-changing for individuals but a cost-effective social investment.

Demand for our services continues to rise with many of our patients coming to us after other services have failed. To meet this growing need, CPU London is expanding from our Camden clinic to a network of community-based sites across London.

Help us build our vision

To set up an initial three new clinics, starting with a new pilot in North London and keep our original home open, we will need to raise £1.5 million over the next three years. It’s a bold vision but one we hope you will help us turn into bricks and mortar.

Funding for the future

With the help of visionary partners, we can transform what CPU London is capable of. And through longer term partnerships we can secure the future of the CPU London, provide ongoing care for our patients and make our expansion a reality. Please consider supporting us and help us build a stable long-term funding base for our essential service.

Making a major gift

We want our major donors to be at the heart of our ambitious project. Through major gifts, three-year pledges, automatic annual donations and endowment-style support, you can help us build a long-term future for free psychotherapy in London. There is a range of benefits including regular donor events and exploring opportunities to support or name individual clinics or the wider network we offer.

Become part of our future

If you would like to donate or start a conversation with us about your help, please contact our CEO, Ora Dresner. Your contribution, today and in future, will make our vision a reality and help ensure that effective mental health treatment is available to everyone, not only those who can afford it and that long-term psychotherapy remains a public good.

Thank you!

"CPU London has enabled countless people on lower incomes to get the help they need to recover from mental and emotional difficulties. The service it provides is invaluable"

- Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
