  • TRUSTEE VACANCY - with Fundraising & Business Experience

Location:    Kentish Town/Chalk Farm, London, NW5

CPU is looking for a Trustee with fundraising and business experience, who has the enthusiasm and commitment to join our Board of Trustees in support of the Clinical Director and staff.

As a CPU Trustee, you will be part of a charity dedicated to providing London-wide mental health support to people irrespective of their financial and social status.  For 48 years, we have provided free and low-cost longer-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy to adults on benefits and low income.  

Working with a group of enthusiastic, experienced, dedicated Trustees, clinicians and administrators, you will play an extremely important role:

  • To assist the Board to see the bigger picture; bring a fresh perspective to fundraising plans and strategy.
  • To support our fundraisers with your business experience, to direct them to the best fundraising opportunities in the private and corporate sectors.
  • To ensure fundraising is of the highest standard and priority.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with experience in business and fundraising to help sustain, grow and develop our financial capacities; we are aiming to develop strategies that will allow us to grow and become more financially viable.

We would welcome applications from individuals with experience in the corporate, business and private sectors.  This would complement our experience of trust fundraising in which we have had success, including a significant grant from the Big Lottery. This grant finishes in 2018 and in anticipation of this, we are looking for a trustee with business and fundraising experience to help us maximise our opportunities in the private sector.      

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS AND CPU CONTACT DETAILS:

The Trustees need to attend quarterly board meetings and the AGM.  We would also be grateful if they could participate on an ad hoc basis, at extra events and offer support and advice based on areas of knowledge and expertise.
